We are very pleased to present our new "Kids Page" and "Teens Page"

On the new "Kids" page the Library provides lots of programs and services for children. Just because you're small doesn't mean you can't do big things at your library! There are lots of cool library services available to kids! Just look at some of the things you can do..."Kids Page"

Find out whats going on at your library. You will find links to programs and resources offered just for you as well as teen books, movies and much, much more. You can also check out free downloadable audio/ebooks that are available through the public library. There are many health related links as well including our own subscription to "Teen Health and Wellness"

Library Sculpture

Dr. John Haeberlin, a long-time resident and owner of a dental practice on the main street in Tweed retired last year.  As a hobby, he has taken up welding unique sculptures from metal.  One such sculpture was recently donated to the Tweed Public Library and sits outside in the plaza.  Dr. Haeberlin and his family now reside in Foxboro.  Thanks Dr. Haeberlin!

Grand Opening Ceremony

We would like to take this opportunity to thank all of you who came to celebrate the Grand Opening of the new Tweed Public Library. It was a wonderful way to celebrate this achievement together and we look forward to seeing you all enjoy the new facility and experience the fantastic range of resources that we have to offer the community.

Tweed Public Library Meeting Room Policy

Meeting rooms in the library bring together the resources of the library and the activities of the community for educational, cultural, civic, recreational and charitable purposes. The meeting rooms are available to Non-Profit, Government, Private and Business (for-profit) groups by reservation request. Grants Stimulating Local Economy Through Innovation and Collaboration

Thank-you to the Ontario Trillium Foundation for their generous support to the Municipality of Tweed - $75,000 over one year to purchase library furniture, computer equipment and general library equipment to enhance the new library space and services in Tweed by providing age- and ability- appropriate materials to community members.

Online Catalogue At The Library!

By clicking on the logo in the upper left you will enter our new automated catalogue that we are now running at the Tweed Public Library.  From here you will be able to browse our collection of books (both fiction and non-fiction), audiotapes, and much more!  The Mandarin Online Catalogue is available to all residents of the Tweed area so don't be afraid to check it out and give it a try!

Internet and Library Computer Assistance
 
Special Thanks to Industry Canada for funding this year's Community Access Program.

Tweed Public Library is the “Community Access Program Site” for Tweed. There are 10 standardized computers with internet access, they include word processor, spreadsheet and presentation graphics software. The computers also offer shortcuts to a selection of our on-line resources. You can surf the web, participate in your favourite social network or connect to your web-based email.

Patrons must present their library card each time they wish to use the computers, first time users must sign a waiver form agreeing to our computer usage policy. Those under 18 must have a parent or guardian's signature and children 10 and under must be with a parent or guardian to use the Internet in the Library.

The Community Access Program

(CAP) helps Canadians, wherever they live, take advantage of emerging opportunities in the new global knowledge-based economy. Under CAP, public locations like schools, libraries and community centres act as "on-ramps" to the Information Highway, and provide computer support and training.

CAP provides funds and resources to public locations to purchase computers as well as other electronic equipment and services, such as Internet access so that the public has affordable (and oftentimes free) access to the Internet and the World Wide Web.

As part of CAP, Industry Canada also funds the Community Access Program - Youth Initiative (CAP-YI), commonly referred to as the Youth Initiative. Participants (youth aged 15-30) work as interns at CAP Centres throughout Canada, helping individuals, community organizations and small businesses improve their knowledge and effective use of the Internet and related information technologies.
